End of 2025
The end of 2025 is upon us. In the reflection of the past year, I can see God at work.
2025 started with me just starting to walk again after surgery. I had spent the Fall of 2024 non-weight bearing leading up to surgery and then in recovery.
Being able to stand on your own two feet is a blessing we easily take for granted, until it is gone.
The year also started with the announcement that Liberty Christian School would be closing at the end of the 24/25 school year. This community that I had worked for the last 10 years, the people that I loved and called family was going to be gone. My whole family was brokenhearted. Continuing to pray that God make himself known through the struggle.
At the end of January, my daughter was admitted into the hospital for seizures. With much evaluation, monitoring and treatment her seizures are now controlled, praise God, but it was difficult to watch your child suffer and not be able to fix it. The helplessness was painful. I am so proud of how strong she was and again we are blessed to have the community around us and amazing doctors.
The Lord had a plan for me after Liberty Christian, I would join Equipping Farmers International as a Human Resources Director, but also as the North American Ministries Director. I started networking and praying for wisdom in what that would look like. Equipping Farmers International is a mission organization that is 100% donor supported. For the first time in my professional career, I was directly responsible for raising some of the money I would need for my work. This is a skill I am still working on and resisted quit a bit at first.
I started teaching discipleship agriculture through Equipping Farmers International in the Summer of 2025. I loved it. Sharing the love of gardening, my passion for sustainable food and introducing people to the Creator through creation, it was like God planned this for me. The North American team was able to equip 85 people in how to use conservation agriculture as a discipleship tool to feed the world through the church.
The Fall of 2025 brought the government shutdown and a time of searching for our family. Through prayer we could see God was still calling Lavender into full-time mission and promising his provision.
Welcome 2026. God is at work and calling for total dependence on him. Next year I will be apart of at least 7 trainings with the possibility of 9. I am continuing to network with churches and help answer the question about what an agriculture outreach mission can look like for their congregation, while continuing to train those entering the mission field. Praying to make discipleship agriculture a part of the church DNA.
Our Bible verse for 2026 is 1 Corinthians 10:31: “So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”
If you would like to continue to hear about our mission please join our mailing list and feel free to share with your friends and congregation.
We also would love to have you financially partner with us. Each training costs between $600-$2,000 in travel, food and arrangements. If you would like to sponsor a training, make a one time donation or becoming a monthly donor click the link below.
